A love letter to the people who make Substack worth reading

Two weeks ago, I posted a Note with a simple request,

Describe your Substack in ONE word only.

The answers ranged from inspiring and funny to surprisingly deep.

I just loved the them. They were thoughtful and unexpected, and incredibly different from one another. Each was a tiny window into a whole world someone is building here, one post at a time.

So I decided to turn some of my favorites into a post.

The goal is to feature fellow writers, and help you discover new newsletters to read and creators to connect with.

This is what Substack is made of…

From geoscience to grief, from baking on a budget to building a digital business, from cult survival to open marriage. This little experiment managed to capture something I didn’t expect: just how wide and human this platform really is.

No two newsletters here sound alike. No two writers are chasing the same thing.

That’s what makes Substack so special. It’s not an algorithm or a trend. It’s a community of real people writing about the things that matter to them.
